SIDNEY — Alyssa Chavez, a Sidney High School graduate, and daughter of Andrew Chavez and Kenna LeMaster, celebrates her acheivements and graduation from Bowling Green State University (BGSU).

Chavez graduated summa cum laude from BGSU on Dec. 10, 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality and event management with a 4.0 GPA. While she attended BGSU she was named to the dean’s list for four years and was a Thompson Scholar.

During her time at BGSU she worked as a tutor at the campus Learning Commons, was an active member of the Honors Student Association and served as the Chair of Diversity and Inclusion for the University Activities Organization.

As part of the curriculum for her degree, Chavez interned with Sidney Alive during the summer of 2021 and at the Dayton Air Show during the summer of 2022.

Following her graduation, Chavez began working full time as an event coordinator for Sidney Alive in January 2023. She is excited to return to her hometowns and give back to the community.
