ODOT announces current, upcoming projects

SIDNEY — The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 7, has numerous road projects underway in Shelby and surrounding counties.

Auglaize County

• Interstate 75 between state Route 274 and National Road, Daily lane closures through July 29 between the hours of 3 a.m. and 3 p,m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

• State Route 66 between South Park Drive and Quellhorst Road, 24-hour bridge closure through June 1st. The official detour is state Route 219 to state Route 29 to state Route 116 to state Route 197 to state Route 66.

• State Route 66 between St. Marys Kossuth Road and Township Road 182, 24-hour road closure through May 13. The official detour is state Route 66 to state Route 219 to state Route 29 to state Route 116 to state Route 197 to state Route 66.

Miami County

• I-75 at County Road 25A (Troy), 24-hour lane width restrictions through Oct. 31. Northbound lanes will be restricted to 13 feet. Southbound lanes will be restricted to 12 feet. Two lanes will remain open in each direction with one northbound lane shifted to the southbound side and one northbound lane operating on the northbound side. Two southbound lanes will also be open on the southbound side.

• I-75 south ramp to County Road 25A near Troy, 24-hour ramp closure through Oct. 28. The official detour is I-75 south to state Route 41 to I-75 north to County Road 25A.

Shelby County

• State Route 47 between I-75 and Vandemark Road, Daily lane closures through July 31 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

• Mason Road between County Road 25A (Sidney) and Sidney Freyburg Road, 24-hour bridge closure through May 16. The official detour is: Sidney Freyburg Road to Fort Loramie Swanders Road to County Road 25A.

• I-75 between state Route 119 and County Road 25A (Sidney), Nightly lane closures through May 20th between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

• Sharp Road between County Road 25A and Thompson Schiff Road, 24-hour bridge closure through June 18. The official detour is Sidney-Freyburg Road to Fort Loramie-Swanders Road to County Road 25A.

• Michigan Street between Pomeroy Avenue and Oak Avenue, 24-hour bridge closure through Aug. 5. The official detour is:Michigan Street to Highland Avenue to Oak Avenue.

• State Route 29 between Wells Road and McCartyville Road, 24-hour shoulder closure through July 29. Lanes will be restricted to 12 feet with shoulders closed. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Upcoming local closures include:

• Shelby – state Route 29 between McCloskey School Road and state Route 589, 24-hour road closure May 9–20. The official detour is: state Route 235 to state Route 706

• Auglaize – state Route 29 between Cloverleaf Road and Schultz Road, Daily shoulder closure May 9-23 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lanes will remain open.

• District wide — shoulder closures on I-75 in Miami, Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize U.S. 33, Mercer state Route 29, and Darke U.S. 127. Various shoulder closures May 16 – July 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

ODOT closures focus on Interstate, US and State routes. For information on local roads you will need to contact the county, city or township where the road is located. Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming closure. All work is weather permitting. Safety is a top priority at ODOT. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
