ANNA — Five volunteers and longtime residents of Anna have been named the grand marshals by the Anna Civic Association for the Anna Homecoming Festival parade to be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 4 p.m. The parade theme is “Community Pride.”

Kay and Velma Billing, Paul and JoAnn Dunkman and Ron Dunn have been selected based on their commitment to the Anna community over the years, through their many hours of volunteering and serving in numerous organizations and activities.

Kay and Velma Billing have been residents of the Anna area all their lives. Kay is past owner of Billing Barber Shop, which was located in Anna. They are members of the St. Jacob Lutheran church and have served on various church organizations, including Council. They are also past members of the Anna Community Club, Village Park Committee and Anna Ladies Tennis League committee. Kay is a past volunteer firefighter, having served as assistant fire chief, and he also served on the village of Anna Zoning Board. Kay and Velma enjoy participating in Operation Christmas Child and have two grown children and several grandchildren.

Paul and JoAnn Dunkman are owners of the Anna IGA and have spent many years turning their business into a 5-star store, a high achievement they strive to maintain. They are proud to be celebrating 25 years in the store. They have been involved in many committees in Anna and in Lewisburg. Paul is a founding member of the Anna Community Improvement Corporation. He is a member of the Friends of the Anna Branch Library, Lions Club and the Dayton Food Trade Seniors Club. Paul is a past Master of the West Milton Lodge No. 577 Free and Accepted Masons. Paul and JoAnn are members of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Rhine where they have served as past members of Parish Council They are currently members of the church choir and serve as a Lector. Paul and JoAnn were active in school organizations while their girls were students.

Ron Dunn is a life-long resident of the Anna community and lovingly known as the “Anna Rocket No. 1 Fan.” Ron was a member of the Anna Community Club for 10 years and served as president for one term. He served on the Anna Village Council for 20 years and was president for one term. He is a member of the Anna Rocket Athletic Boosters and has volunteered countless hours organizing the concession stand. Ron has participated in the Volunteers for Education program the past five years by volunteering in the Elementary school cafeteria as a server. Ron also coached in the girls’ softball program for 10 years.
