SIDNEY — The Sidney Aktion Club met June 25 to man an informational booth at the Great Sidney Farmers Market in downtown Sidney.

The club has instituted the Giving Station, a program through which businesses can donate to the Aktion Club food, plants or items that might otherwise be discarded. The Aktion Club then redonates them to local nonprofit organizations for use.

Donations June 25 included flats of flowers, a hanging basket, five loaves on bread, turnips, lettuce and cupcakes. All food items were donated to the Alpha Center.

The Aktion Club’s booth will be operational during the Great Sidney Farmers Market on the last Saturday of each month.
