ALLIANCE — Two students from Fort Loramie who attended the 70th annual Buckeye Girls State held in June at University of Mount Union served in appointed and elected offices.

Nearly 900 high school girls who will be seniors when school begins in August participated in the week-long government-in0action workshop sponsored by the Ohio American Legion Auxiliary. The program is designed to educate the citizens of tomorrow in city, county, and state government functions and operations.

At Buckeye Girls State, Regan Middendorf, daughter of Shelly and Mark Middendorf, held the office of City Engineer of Hayes City. Megan Koppin, daughter of Missy and Jim Koppin, held a position on the school board of Bombeck City.

American Legion Post 446, of Anna, was proud to sponsor both outstanding young ladies.
