TROY — The WACO Learning Center at the WACO Air Museum, 1865 S. county Road 25A, Troy, is looking for people 25 and older to serve as coaches in its First Lego League program for children 9-14.

First Lego League (FLL) is a robotics program designed to get children excited about science and technology and teach them employment and life skills. In FLL, the children program an autonomous robot to score points on a thematic playing surface, complete a science project, and learn teamwork.

As part of the WACO Learning Center, sponsored in part by a grant from the Dayton Power & Lights, WACO will host a FLL coach’s clinic, Aug. 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. Register for the clinic by calling 937-335-9226.

The clinic will cover the three components of a FLL competition: tips and best practices for a FLL coach, timing of the 2015 season, and intro into programming the EV3 robots. There is no cost to attend the seminar, and no obligation to coach.
