Shelby County Board of Elections

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Board of Elections will meet twice next week.

On Monday, Aug. 15, at 7 a.m., the board will meet to certify the results of the Aug. 2 special election. They will also review the issues for the November ballot.

On Thursday, Aug. 18, an electronic poll book demonstration day will be held beginning at 8 a.m. Demonstrations will be given by Knowink, Votec and Election Systems & Software.

Sidney City Zoning Board of Appeals

SIDNEY — The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet Monday, Aug. 15, at 4 p.m. in council chambers.

The board will consider the election of officers, including the Chair and Vice Chair positions; the request for a variance of Grace Baptist Church to allow a 15-foot front yard setback, where 25-feet is the minimum allowed, at 137 West Edgewood St., in the single family residence district; and the request by Choice One Engineering, on behalf of Cargill, Inc., for a variance to allow a gravel parking facility, where a paved surface is required, at 2280 Industrial Drive, in the general industrial district.

Sidney City Planning Commission

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Planning Commission will meet on Monday, Aug. 15, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.

The board will consider the election of officers, including the Chair and Vice Chair positions. Also apart of new business, the board will consider the request of Britt Havenar, on behalf of Eric Mees, for the replat of two lots to create one new lot at 245 W. North St., in the multi-family residence district; and the request of Choice One Engineering, on behalf of Norcold, Inc., for the replat of two lots to create two new lots at the southeast corner of Campbell Road and Kuther Road in the general industrial district.

The will also be a public hearing a review of the zone map adoption in which the city is requesting the adoption of a new zone map. The purpose is to officially update zoning district changes since the the last map was adopted on July 7, 2014.

Sidney Board of Education

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, Aug. 15, at 5:30 p.m. for its August meeting at the Board of Education office.

Superintendent John Scheu will discuss Cargill Perfect Attendance Award for 2016-2017, Ohio Arts Council TeachArtsOhio Residency (SCS one of 18 school districts chosen in Ohio), school levy and a back to school update. Bob smith will review GPA.

In the treasurers report they will vote on a contract with PowerSchool, and a service agreement with MRESC. At the meeting they will also accept a resignation and hire several personnel, as well as approve bus stops. There will also be an executive session.

Hardin-Houston Board of Education

HOUSTON — The Hardin-Houston Board of Education will meet Monday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. in the school’s media center. Items on the agenda are to approve monthly financial reports and expenditures for July 2016, and address personnel issues.

Jackson Center Board of Education

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Board of Education will meet Monday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m. for a regular meeting. The board will vote to approve bus routes and stops, as well as a budget request from FCCLA, and a service agreement with Shelby County ESC.

They will vote to approve certain fund adjustments for the new school building, and other improvement related expenses. They will also cote to approve a real estate abatement of 100 percent over 15 years for the Airstream Corporation to expand their current facilities.

They will also hire new employees, and hear reports from the treasurer, maintenance, bus, custodial, elementary, and high school. As usual they will hear an update about the building project.

Fort Loramie Board of Education

FORT LORAMIE — The Fort Loramie Board of Education will meet in regular session, Monday, Aug. 15, at 8 p.m., in the Media Center at the school.

On the agenda are approvals of tuition rates, rental agreements, pay rates, salary notice issuance, tuition students and supplemental contracts and a discussion of softball field improvements.

New Bremen Board of Education

NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Local Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session, Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the school.

The board will consider personnel, special education attendance and transportation, cafeteria bids, school fees, tuition reimbursement for the system treasurer and CBC membership and will recognize volunteers. They plan to go into executive session to consider personnel appointments or evaluations.

Sidney-Shelby County Board of Health

SIDNEY — The Sidney-Shelby County Board of Health will meet in regular session, Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m., in the Health Department Conference Room, 202 W. Poplar St.

The board will consider a household sewage treatment system variance request by Allison Gillespie, an order to remain vacant concerning 622 N. West Ave., and a condemnation order concerning 221 1/2 N. West. Ave.; a Family and Children First Council allocation payment, a cultural proficiency strategic plan and bloodborne pathogens plan. The board will also hear reports.
