ST. MARYS — Members of Midwest Electric donated $11,100 to 11 west-central Ohio charities and community projects through the Community Connection Fund.
The latest recipients included the Children’s Development Center in Lima, Family Care Optics in Celina, the Cancer Association of Auglaize County, and the Putnam County Council on Aging, among others.
According to a news release, the Midwest Electric Community Connection Fund has provided $877,301 to 708 area projects since 1998.
A board of trustees, composed of cooperative members and separate from the Midwest Electric board of trustees, oversees the application and allocation process. Individuals or organizations can obtain an application by contacting Midwest Electric at 419-394-4110 or 800-962-3830.
