SIDNEY — Agape Distribution People’s Garden will hold an open house Saturday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot behind Agape.

The open house will feature the Urban Sustainability Project, which includes the garden beds, the edible trail, the discovery center and future plans for solar power, rainwater collection, composting and more.

There will be a free lunch available to those attending.

Agape Distribution serves 17,600 Shelby County residents with free groceries. The group has adopted a sustainability model which will provide produce, capture rain water, utilize solar power, engage pantry shoppers to garden, compost organics and help Agape Distribution reach zero waste by 2020.
