SIDNEY — For many of you, summer is the longest season of the year … if only because there are no high school sports to attend in the summer months.

All of waiting is at an end, however, as the 2016-17 high school sports season is upon us. It is the busiest of the three high school sports seasons, as there are nine sports — football, boys and girls soccer, volleyball, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls golf and girls tennis all going on at the same time.

While the season already has started for some seasons, several more begin this week. If you want to know how your favorite high school sports teams are doing going into the preseason, we have the answers for which you are looking.
