Lottery opens for show tix

DAYTON — “The Book of Mormon,” winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has announced a lottery ticket policy for the national tour, which begins Aug. 18 at the Schuster Performing Arts Center in Dayton and plays a one-week engagement.

In Dayton, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the Ticket Center Stage box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 apiece.

Entries will be accepted at the Ticket Center Stage box office, located in the Wintergarden of the Schuster Center, beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance; people will print their names and the number of tickets (one or two) they wish to purchase on cards that will be provided. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $25 each. Only one entry is allowed per person. Cards are checked for duplication prior to drawing. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Tickets are subject to availability.

The lottery will open at 5:30 p.m., with a drawing at 6 p.m., before 8 p.m. performances, Aug. 18-22; it will open at 11:30 a.m. with a drawing at noon before 2 p.m. performances Aug. 22 and Aug. 23; and it will open at 5 p.m. with a drawing at 5:30 p.m. before a 7:30 p.m. performance, Aug. 23.

The wildly irreverent adult musical features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of the landmark animated series, “South Park.”
