HOUSTON – The Houston Community Association met Aug. 5 and discussed the success of the 2015 Shelby County Fair.

They said the trustees could not have the food booth without all the volunteer help from people in the community. Thank you very much.

They are now gearing up for the Fall Lake Festival at Ft. Loramie campground. They will need help with the set up of the booth, working the booth and tearing down the booth.

The dates of the festival are Sept. 18, 19, and 20. Help is needed on the 16th and 17th to construct the floor for the booth and set things up in the booth.

Shift times are Friday 3 to 6 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 to 4 p.m., 4 to 6:30 p.m., 6:30 to 9 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Please call Gene Greve, Jack Curl, Jason Curl, Catrina Martin, Brenda Langston, Phil Cozad, Butch DeLaet, Gary Vondenhuval or Patty Cotterman to volunteer to help with the booth.

The website is up and running. The address is www.houstonca.org. They will be updating it frequently. You can find out about rentals, scholarship, fundraisers, trustees and anything else going on with the association.

The next meeting is Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
