Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. in the Adams Board Room.

Reports will be given by the board president, board member, superintendent and Jessica Helsinger, who will talk about the Costa Rica Learning Experience. The board will also accept donations and discuss out-of-district learning experiences and out-of-state travel. Personnel matters are also on the agenda.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building. They will hear a presentation on the Neighborhood Beautification Award.

Council is expected to adopt two ordinances on the assessment of the cost of weed cutting and/or the removal of litter or junk and for the amendment of the traffic control map.

There will be a public hearing and the introduction of the ordinance to adopt a new zone map for Sidney.

Council is expected to adopt three resolutions for the Five Year Financial Plan (2017-2021), the reappointment of Daniel Heitmeyer to the Compensation Commission, and the reappointment of David Gross and Steven Klingler to the Sidney Planning Commission.

They will also hold an executive session for the purpose of considering the purchase of property for public purposes, pending or imminent court action and the discipline of a public employee.
