Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Adams Board Room.

The board is expected to approve several purchases orders, including one for the bus/van garage expansion project; approve a contract with Miami County Sheriff’s Officer for a school resource officer; accept a donation; and hire employees for the 2015-16 school year.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — Sidney City Council will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers.

Civilian and Fire Department Lifesaving Awards will be presented and an update of utility billing will be given.

Council will introduce ordinances to make supplemental appropriations and to adopt a supplement to the code of ordinances. Council will consider resolutions to accept a plat and replat of properties.

In an executive session, council will discuss negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees and consider the purchase of property for public purposes.

Jackson Center Village Council

JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center Village Council will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the village offices.

Council will consider ordinances to issue industrial development revenue bonds for EMI Corp., authorize adjustments to annual appropriations, and establish job classifications and rates for village employees. Council will consider a resolution to accept the tax rates and amounts as determined by the Budget Commission.

The administrator’s report will include moving of recycling containers, a neighborhood revitalization grant, 2015 paving projects, and scheduling of a work session to discuss the 2016 budget.

There also will be a presentation concerning John Lenhart being named National Sheriff of the Years and an executive session to discuss the purchase or sale of real estate.

New Knoxville Board of Education

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Board of Education will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the media center.

The board will hear reports from the New Knoxville Education Education and grades K-6 and 7-12 principals. The board will act on resignations and employment of various positions, and will approve bus routes.

Downtown Revitalization Task Force

SIDNEY — The city of Sidney Downtown Revitalization Task Force will meet Wednesday, Aug. 26, at noon at The Bridge Restaurant, 127 W. Poplar St., Sidney.

Items on the agenda include the appointment of a task force secretary; setting meeting dates, times and location; deadlines for agenda items; report on the Central Ohio Code Officials Association meeting; and a strategic planning committee report.

Edison Community College Board of Trustees

PIQUA — The Edison Community College Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday for its annual strategic planning retreat at Aileron, 8860 Wildcat Road, Tipp City.

The retreat will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a brief business meeting at 2 p.m.

There will be no regular board meeting in August.
