QUINCY — The Village of Quincy has rescheduled the Village of Quincy council meetings for the month of October and November.

The normal first and third Tuesdays of each month have been changed to the second and fourth Tuesday of October and November. The new dates will be Oct. 11 and Oct. 25, 2016 and Nov. 8 and Nov. 22, 2016. The time remains at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers. The December meetings will return to the first and third Tuesdays of December.

At the October meeting the third and final reading of an ordinance will be presented for final approval to increase the water rate from $20.50 per month to $25.50 per month. This will make the final bill $75 per month. The increase is due to the high maintenance cost involved with the new filtration system and the need to drill a new well to provide water to the village residents.

Well number one has stopped producing water and a new well had to be drilled. Other maintenance is also needed to keep the system in compliance with the Ohio E.P.A.

The public is invited to attend this meeting on Oct. 11, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. with questions and concerns. The meeting will be held at 115 N. Miami St. at the council chamber.
