SIDNEY —Three motorcyclists were injured — one seriously — in a motorcycle crash Friday night.

Robert E. Branam, 44, of Sidney, was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after the 7:52 p.m. crash.

According to a news release from Shelby County Sheriff John Lenhart, Branam, operating a 2005 Harley Davidson, was eastbound on Millcreek Road, near the Stephens Road intersection, when he hit the rear of a Harley Davidson operated by William Copeland, 39, of Sidney. Lesley J. Copeland, 39, of Sidney, also was eastbound on Millcreek Road, operating a 2001 Harley Davidson. She applied her brakes to avoid the crash. She lost control of her motorcycle and it slid off the left side of the road.

Medics from the Sidney Department of Fire & Emergency Services took the three victims to Wilson Memorial Hospital. Branam was later taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.
