HOUSTON – The Houston Community Association met Sept. 2 to discuss upcoming events.

Their next fundraiser is the food booth at the Ft. Loramie Lake Festival held at the campground. The dates are Friday, Sept. 18, Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20.

Please call Gene Greve at 937-778-9470 or 937-538-0077 to sign up to work a shift or two. Help is needed on Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting, for set up. The tent will be set up on the Thursday if there are no weather delays. Once the tent is set up the booth can be constructed.

The association’s pizza Friday nights will begin on Oct. 9 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Community Center. They need help with these fundraisers also. Butch DeLaet is the chairperson for this event. He can be contacted at 937-726-6935. These pizza Friday nights are held the first Friday night of each month until March.

Trustees are working on making some changes to their Houston High School Scholarship requirements. They will be announced soon and posted on their website at www.houstonca.org.

Rentals of the Community Center for events are available by calling Marcella Colby at 937-778-0427.

The next meeting will be held Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Community Center.
