SIDNEY — The Coast Guard Auxiliary has put out a call for volunteers.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary promotes safety with activities helping boaters. Membership is open to U.S. citizens who are 17 and older.

The group participates in public education, vessel safety checks, an auxiliary radio station that controls safety patrols and flotilla activities. Many members choose to do volunteer duty with Coast Guard units.
