Construction season continues for ODOT

SIDNEY — The Labor Day is over but construction on local highway projects is continuing.

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 has announced the following closures are currently in effect for the week of Sept. 7-13:

Auglaize County

· Ohio 198 between East Auglaize Street and River Street, 24-hour road closure through Nov. 30. The official detour is Ohio 67 to County Road 25A to Infirmary Road.

· Ohio 29 between East Greenville Road and Plattner Road, 24-hour road closure through Oct. 15. The official detour is Ohio 29 to Ohio 274 to Ohio 66.

· Ohio 219 between East Shelby Road and Ohio 29, 24-hour road closure through Sept. 30. The official detour is Ohio 29 to Ohio 274 to Ohio 66

Darke County

· U.S. 127 between Ohio 121 and U.S. 36, 24 hour lane closures through Sept. 29. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Miami County

· Interstate 75 northbound between County Road 25A and Ohio 55, Daily lane closures through Sept. 11 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Two northbound lanes will remain open at all times.

· Ohio 721 between Pitsburg-Laura Road and Ohio 571, 24-hour road closure through Oct. 20. The official detour is Ohio 49 to US 40 to Ohio 48 to Ohio 571

· US 36 between Casstown Fletcher and Troy Road, Various lane closures through Oct. 15 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· Ohio 589 between Ohio 55 and U.S. 36, Various lane closures through Oct. 15 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· Eldean Road between County Road 25A (Troy) and Lytle Road, 24-hour road closure through Nov. 2. The official detour will be posted.

· County Road 25A (Piqua) between Looney Road and Indian Ridge Drive, 24-hour road closure through Oct. 15. The official detour is Looney Road to U.S. 36 to Troy/Sidney Road to County Road 25A

· County Road 33 (Eldean) between County Road 25A (Troy) and Piqua Troy Road, 24-hour road closure through Nov. 4. The official detour is County Road 25A to West Peterson Road to Piqua Troy Road

· I-75 south Ramp to County Road 25A near Troy, 24-hour ramp closure through Sept. 11. The official detour is I-75 south to Ohio 41 to I-75 north to County Road 25A.

Shelby County

· I-75/Ohio 29 Interchange, Intermittent ramp closures through Sept. 30 between the hours of 6 a.m. and noon. Exit and entrance ramps at the I-75/Ohio 29 interchange will be closed intermittently during those times. Detours will be posted.

· I-75/Ohio 29 Interchange, 24 hour ramp restrictions through Sept. 30. All ramps at this interchange will be restricted to 10-foot lanes.

· I-75 north and south between County Road 25A (Piqua) and County Road 25A (Sidney), Nightly lane closures through Nov. 15 between the hours of 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Monday to Thursday and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday to Sunday. Two lanes will remain open in each direction at all times.

Upcoming closures include:

· Miami- Ohio 48 between U.S. 36 and Ohio 718, 24-hour road closure Sept. 14–25. The official detour is U.S. 36 to Ohio 721 to Ohio 718. Local traffic will be maintained at all times.

· Shelby- Ohio 47 between Water Street and County Road 23N, Daily lane closures Sept. 14 through Octo. 16 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· Shelby – Ohio 274 between Shroyer Road and Township Road 23, Daily lane closures Sept. 14 through Oct. 16 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

· Auglaize – Ohio 65 betwteen U.S. 33 and Middle Pike Road, 24-hour road closure Sept. 14–15. The official detour is U.S. 33 to I-75 to Ohio 67

· Auglaize – Ohio 65 betwteen Blackhoof Creek and Ohio 67,24-hour road closure Sept. 16–18. The official detour is U.S. 33 to I-75 to Ohio 67

· Mercer – Ohio 119 betwteen Fort Recovery-Minster Road and St. Peter Road, 24-hour road closure Sept. 21 through Oct. 12. The official detour is Ohio 118 to Ohio 705 to Ohio 49.

ODOT closures focus on Interstate, US and State routes. For information on local roads you will need to contact the county, city or township where the road is located. Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming closure. All work is weather permitting. Safety is a top priority at ODOT. To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
