Band with local ties wins three Ohio Music Awards

DAYTON — The band JL & The Typical Johnsons, from Minster, New Knoxville and Fort Loramie, was recently announced a winner in three separate categories for the 3rd Annual Ohio Music Awards [OMA’s].

Committed to celebrating and recognizing the rich and diverse music of Ohio’s artists by awarding Best of Ohio Music Awards in a variety of genres, the OhioMusic Awards are open to Ohio artists whose original recordings are either recorded, produced or mixed primarily within the state of Ohio.

JL & The Typical Johnsons who won an award in 2015 for best Folk song under the name Jeremy & Lynne have returned with an even stronger offering this year and a new album called “The Sailor & The Siren.” With three track earning awards this year and new material on the way the upcoming months look to be very bright indeed for the Ohio band of musicians.
