Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building.

Council is expected to adopt six ordinances, and they are:

• For making supplemental appropriations for 2016;

• To make an appropriation for expenditures for the city during the year ending Dec. 31, 2017.

• An amendment of a section of codified ordinances regarding personnel policies, procedures, and regulations;

• For the adoption of certain pay tables for 2017, and declaring an emergency;

• For the assessment of the cost of weed cutting and/or the removal of litter or junk;

• An amendment pertaining to the income tax code.

Council is also expected to adopt five resolutions, and they are:

• The appointment of Patricia Hamberg and reappointment of Kent Craver and Herman Thompson, Jr. to the Citizens Peer Review Committee;

• The reappointment of Karl Bemus to the Personnel Board of Appeals;

• The reappointment of Dennis Sollmann to the Sidney-Shelby Economic Partnership Council;

• The reappointment of Amy Klingler to the Sidney County Regional Planning Commission;

• The reappointment of Brandi Thompson to the City Tree Board.

They will also hold an executive session for negotiations or bargaining sessions with public employees, the appointment and discipline of a public official or employee and pending or imminent court action.

Anna Local School Board of Education

ANNA — The Anna Board of Education will meet on Monday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 in middle school room 209.

The board will hear reports from the elementary, middle and high school, as well as from the technology coordinator. During the treasurer’s report they will discuss the bond retirement fund, and medicaid reimbursement. During the superintendent’s report they will discuss board reports, the 2017 meeting schedule and the school renovations.

The board will consider the approval of indoor track as a club sport, and the awarding of supplemental contracts.

Jackson Center Village Council

JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Village Council will meet on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. Prior to the meeting, starting at 6:30 p.m., a zoning hearing will be held to amend the zoning map.

During the regular meeting the council will hear committee and official reports. The mayor will appoint two members to the fire department. The council will hear and vote on orinances dealing with the rezoning talked about during the public hearing. They will also hear an ordinance setting rates for refuse removal services. They will also pass an ordinance authorizing adjustments in the 2016 budget. A resolution to authorize the village to donate surplus equiptment to the village of Waynesfield will also be considered.

An executive session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel will be held.

Minster Board of Education

MINSTER — The Minster Board of Education will meet on Monday, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m. in the elementary school large group meeting room.

The board will go over reports by various school officials and committees. They will go over the treasurer’s reports and the superintendent’s report. Under unfinished business they will go over the Ohio School Facilities update. Under new business they will approve personnel recommendations and set 2017 board meeting dates, and other business.

The board will also hold an executive session for the purpose of employment and compensation of a public employee.

Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Adams Board Room.

The board will go over various reports from officials and board members. They will also hold a public meeting on the issue of the re-employment of Vanessa Kinninger during her SERS service retirement. The board will go over financial reports, and purchase orders. They will accept donations, and set 2017 board meeting dates.

In addition they will hire several staff members, and accept a retirement. They will have a discussion on out-of-district learning opportunities/out-of-state travel.

Fairlawn Local School Board of Education

SIDNEY — Fairlawn Local School District’s Board of Education will meet Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 122 at the school.

Sonya Phillips, music teacher, will give a presentation about a trip to Disney World in 2018 for the high school band and choir. Liz Maxson, English teacher, will give a presentation about the Amizade information for a trip in 2017.

The board will be setting the time, date and location for the re-organizational meeting in January 2017. They will also elect a board member to serve as president pro tempore at the meeting.

Also on the agenda is employment, awarding service contracts and approving volunteers for the district.

Botkins Local School Board of Education

BOTKINS — The Botkins Board of Education will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. in the school’s media center. The board will hear a presentation about the Lego League, and will hold a public hearing for the 2017-18 school year calendar.

The board will also hear the treasures report, and reports from each committee. In unfinished business the board will discuss Education and Foundation. In new business the board will set the January organizational meeting, approve the Washington D.C. trip, and accept donations. They will hire extracurricular positions, substitute teachers, and seasonal winter help. They will also accept a bid for radios and discuss STEM Scholarships for Women.

Clinton Township Trustees

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Trustees will have a re-organizational meeting on Dec. 20, 2016 at 6:45 p.m. in the Township Building.
