MARIA STEIN — A 20-year-old Maria Stein man died early Saturday morning following the fourth traffic-related death in the county this year, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

At 3:58 a.m., central dispatch received a 911 call transfer from Auglaize County reporting a one-vehicle crash. Sheriff Jeff Grey said in a press release that an investigation revealed a 1979 Jeep was traveling south on Kremer Road when the driver lost control and went off the east side of the roadway, striking a power pole.

The vehicle’s only occupant, Samuel J. Wuebker, 20, of 1189 Kremer Road, Maria Stein, died from injuries suffered in the crash.

The accident is under investigation. Deputies were assisted on scene by Osgood Fire Department and Squad.
