4 Paws receives donation

XENIA — 4 Paws for Ability Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that places service dogs with children and veterans around the globe, accepted a check from Amvets Post 444 on Friday, Dec. 9. The check presentation was held before 13 children graduated with their service dogs.

The check is from the Amvets Post 444’s golf tournament held in Springfield in September and will be used for the Veterans Program. Five veterans will receive service dogs from 4 Paws in 2017. 4 Paws was one of two nonprofits to benefit from the outing. The other nonprofit was the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Founded in 1998, 4 Paws for Ability Inc., is a non-profit agency with global outreach serving children and veterans with disabilities by providing service dogs to those in need. The training of a service dog is recipient specific with a focus on Autism Assistance dogs, Mobility Assistance dogs, Seizure Assistance Dogs, among others.
