THURSDAY

-10:01 p.m.: probation violation. Brittany Vanhorn, 24, 225 E. Queen St., was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation.

-4:42 p.m.: theft. Laird Albin, 85, 637 Marilyn Drive, reported the theft of $100 cash.

-3:58 p.m.: lost property. Jerry Brazeal, 63, 104 High Ave., reported he lost the front license plate off his vehicle.

-10:58 a.m.: breaking and entering. Roberta Shaw, 58, of Milford, reported someone had damaged the front door of her residence and entered without permission earlier that morning.

-9:53 a.m.: theft. Tracy Potts, 49, 936 Buckeye Ave., reported someone stole his cell phone.

-8:33 a.m.: aggravated menacing. Gregory Harriger, 37, was arrested for aggravated menacing and resisting arrest in the 400 block of East Court Street.

WEDNESDAY

-1:40 p.m: theft. Four Paws Grooming reported someone failed to pay after having her dog groomed. The case is under investigation.

Accidents

Shayla Cotterman, 26, 844 S. Main Ave., was cited for passing/overtaking on the left after an accident on Wednesday at 1:55 p.m.

Cotterman was southbound on South Ohio in the west lane, then merged into the east lane. She attempted to pass a car on the left, causing it to turn into her. The driver of the other vehicle, Carol Meyer, 72, 14471 Mendenhall Road, Yorkshire, said she was in the left lane turning left into the People’s Bank drive-thru when Cotterman came up on the left side.

A witness was present and said Cotterman was at fault, although Cotterman highly disputed it was her fault. Police are asking any other witnesses to this accident to come forward.

• Jasmine Smith, 25, 332 S. Miami Ave., was cited for driving under a suspension after an accident Tuesday at 6:11 p.m.

Smith was backing from a parking spot at 125 W. Court St., and failed to see a semi and struck it. Both vehicles had minor damage.

Fire, rescue

FRIDAY

-1:16 a.m. to 1:37 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to five calls.

THURSDAY

-9:20-9:28 p.m.: medical. Medics responded to four calls.

-9:18 p.m.: arcing wires. Crews responded to 439 Apollo St. for wires arcing outside.

-2:13 p.m.: accident. Crews responded to Main and North streets for an auto accident. No one was injured.

-1:17 p.m.: open burn. Firefighters responded to 504 Urban Ave. for an open-burn complaint. The fire was not in compliance and was extinguished.

-12:47 p.m.: accident. Crews responded to Main and North streets for an auto accident. There were no injuries.

-9:14 p.m.: accident. Medics provided mutual aid to Port Jefferson Fire for auto accident at Wones Road and Ohio 47.

-7:28 a.m.: fire alarm. Firefighters responded to 815 Oak Ave. to check on a fire alarm. This was a false alarm due to a malfunction in the sprinkler system.
