Garage sales this Friday and Saturday

The annual Fort Loramie Garage Sale will be held this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19. This is held each year in conjunction with the Fall Festival at Lake Loramie. Many residents will have items for sale at their homes.

Barbecue chicken dinner sale

The Service Club will be selling barbecue chicken dinners at the Lake Loramie Fall Festival this Sunday, Sept. 20. Dinners will include one-half chicken, chips, a roll, and applesauce at a cost of $8. Sales will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the state park and also at the Osgood State Bank parking lot in Fort Loramie. Sales will conclude at 12:30 p.m. or when the supply of chicken is exhausted. Proceeds from the sale of the dinners will be used to fund the various service projects of the club.

The Fort Loramie Service Club was organized in February of 2008. Since then thousands of dollars have been donated to various school, community, and church activities. The club also provides assistance to the needy and elderly in the area. The club funds itself with three major fund-raisers throughout the year: Liberty Days Barbecued Chicken, Lake Loramie Fall Festival Barbecued Chicken, and the annual pancake and sausage breakfast in March.

Meetings are held the first and second Tuesdays each month at Al’s Place in Fort Loramie at noon. If anyone wishes to join the organization, please contact president, Brian Albers, or secretary, Frank Turner. New members are always welcome and needed to continue to do the work necessary to fulfill the function as a club.

The retake picture date will be Wednesday, Oct. 21. The pictures will be taken by Lange Photographics of Wapakoneta.
