Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building.

There will be presentations for the proclamation of Thursday, Feb. 2 as Kenneth Girod Day in recognition of the community’s appreciation of retiring Firefighter Kenneth Girod’s more than 29 years of service to the city of Sidney; an update on Sidney Alive; and an update on the Feral Cat Clinic.

Council is expected to adopt two ordinances for permanently designating the clerk of council to attend the required training related to the public records law and sunshine law on behalf council, and for the amendment of a section of the codified ordinances regarding the organization chart.

Council will be introduced to two ordinances for special assessments for the construction and repair of certain described sidewalks in the city and for making supplemental appropriations for 2017.

Council is also expected to adopt three resolutions, and they are:

• Authorization of the city manager to apply for, accept, and enter into a water pollution control loan fund agreement for the design and construction of wastewater facilities and designating a dedicated repayment source for the loan;

• For the declaration of the necessity for repair/replacement of additional curb and gutters in the city and requiring abutting property owners repair/replace the same;

• Authorization of the city manager to advertise for bids and enter into a contract and otherwise contract without bidding for various items and projects.

They will also hold an executive session for a pending or imminent court action and to consider the purchase of property for public purposes.

Local Emergency Planning Committee

SIDNEY — There will be an LEPC Board meeting on Jan. 24 at 8 a.m. at the Shelby County OSU Extension Office.

North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management District

MARYSVILLE — The Board of Directors of the North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management District will hold its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Union County Office Building, Commissioner’s hearing room, 233 W. Sixth St., Marysville.
