SIDNEY — Shelby County Memorial VFW Post 4239 installed newly-elected officers for the 2017-18 Post year at the monthly meeting, May 9.

These officers will assume their duties after the state convention, June 11.

The following veterans will serve in the coming year: Commander Dennis Thatcher; Senior Vice Commander Tom Kinninger; Junior Vice Commander Gearry Gates; Quartermaster Byron Redd; Adjutant Bill Carpenter; Judge Advocate Ray Zwiebel; Surgeon Tony Barga; Chaplain Duane Mullen; and Trustees Andy Brandewie, Pat Owen and Bill Carpenter.

The following leaders will serve in the coming year: President Regina Kidder; Senior Vice President Tom Curtner; Junior Vice President Jackie Gates; Treasurer Marsha Jones; Secretary Lynda Haynes; Conductress Carolyn Vance; Guard Deb Jones; Chaplain Richard Chambliss; and Trustee Christy Thomas.

The VFW Auxiliary organization comprises relatives of those who served in overseas combat.
