The proposed Great Miami River walk Project apparently faces plenty of obstacles, before, if ever, it becomes a reality. A public meeting was held late Wednesday evening in Sidney City Council Chambers to allow imput on the proposed project to develop a walking and bicycle path along the Great Miami River north and south through Sidney. Brooks Davis of 3D/Group, Inc. Architects and Planners, the firm hired to study the proposal noted several obstacles to its completion, such as narrow access and steep river banks in some areas and an unsightly junkyard. Several residents did speak up , saying they did not want portions of their property sold to the city for the project, and didn’t want the bicycle and walking paths going near their homes. “If the community does not want a Riverwalk, there will not be a Riverwalk”.
