Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet Monday, June 26, at 6 p.m. in the Adams Board Room.

Items on the agenda include reports from the board president, a board member and superintendent. The board is expected to approve revisions of board policies and regulations; accept donations from various people and businesses; approve out-of-state travel; approve textbooks for the 2017-18 school year; and approve employee contracts.

Midwest Regional Educational Service Center

SIDNEY — The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center’s regular monthly board meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on June 29, 2017, at Upper Scioto Valley Schools, which is located at 510 Courtright St., McGuffey, Ohio.

Fairlawn Local School Board of Education

SIDNEY — Fairlawn Local School Board of Education will hold a work session Monday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 122. The board will discuss school security. No action will be taken.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building.

There will be a presentation of the state Route 47/Wilkinson Avenue intersection options.

Council is expected to adopt an ordinance for the assessment of the cost of weed cutting/junk or litter removal.

Council will be introduced to and is expected to adopt an ordinance granting a municipal income tax job retention tax credit to Emerson Climate Technologies, and for authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement for the grant and declare an emergency for adoption of the ordinance.

Council will also be introduced to an ordinance for the vacation of a portion of North Street, which is a right of way from Royan Avenue that stubs into Wilson Health’s property.

Council is also expected to adopt two resolutions, and they are:

• To authorize the city manager to enter into an agreement with Shelby County Land Revitalization Corporation for a waiver of the collection of real property assessments;

• To authorize the city manager to enter into an enterprise zone agreement with Emerson Climate Technologies.

In addition, council will also hold an executive session for pending or imminent court action.

Salem Township Trustees

SIDNEY — Due to the first Tuesday of the month in July being a holiday, Salem Township Trustees have rescheduled the monthly meeting for July to Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 8 a.m. at the township building.
