SIDNEY — Dan Cutillo, who owns the Marco’s Pizza store in Sidney, was honored recently at the national firm’s convention in Tampa, Florida.

Cutillo, who owns 13 pizzarias in Ohio, was one of three franchisees to receive the new Marco’s Pizza Legacy Award.

“Pat Giammarco opened the first Marco’s Pizza in Toledo in 1978,” said Jim Strachan, vice president of franchise operations for Marco’s Franchising LLC, in presenting the award. “During the early 1980s, there were three franchisees that believed in and were committed to Pat’s vision of operational excellence, his passion for being the pizza of choice in each community and the desire to invest and grow the brand. Dan Cutillo, along with Angelo Ialacci and Eric Bueter, were instrumental in the early success of Marco’s Pizza. The dedication and hard work of these three men results in a combined total of 86 years as franchisees and they operate a total of 31 stores. The Legacy Award honors and thanks these three franchisees for their commitment and contributions made to Marco’s Pizza over the past 35 years.”

Cutillo, Ialacci and Bueter are the first to receive what Marco’s Pizza plans to establish as an annual award. They were given plaques.

According to Pigula, Marco’s Pizza is the fastest growing pizza company in the country. It has more than 620 stores in 33 states from coast to coast.
