JACKSON CENTER — The Jackson Center Board of Education held a special meeting Tuesday night so they could finalize plans for their new school building.

At the meeting they approved the schematic design state submission for the new pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade building. The submission allows the project to formally move into the design development (DD) stage and signifies that the construction manager and architectural firms have consensus on a project plan that is within budget at this stage.

They also approved an agreement with Freytag & Associates for the portion of the new building that is not co-funded by the state.

The next board meeting is Monday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.
