Upper Valley Career Center

PIQUA — The Upper Valley Career Center Board of Education will meet in regular session at 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 28, in the Adams Board Room of the school in Piqua.

The board will move into executive session, following which, it will consider the superintendent’s recommendation to suspend a teaching employee and initiate termination proceedings.

Also on the agenda are accepting donations and resignations and approving out-of-state travel, the Aspire student handbook, and substitute and supplemental employment contracts.

Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, Aug. 28, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building.

Council will receive updates from Sidney Alive, the summer recreation programs and water park, the Police Survey results, and the police department’s use of body cameras.

It is expected for council to adopt four resolutions, and they are:

• To authorize consumption and possession of alcohol on public property;

• To authorize the city manager to enter into a special event use agreement with Raise the Roof For the Arts;

• And to authorize the city manager to enter into two separate enterprise zone agreements — one with Freshway Foods, and the other with Perfection Bakeries.

Council will also go into an executive session for the possible investment or expenditure of public funds to be made in connection with an Economic Development Project.

New Knoxville Board of Education

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Local Schools Board of Education will meet Monday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. in the media center of the school.

Reports will be given by a New Knoxville Education Association representative, Principal Jenny Fledderjohann and Superintendent Kim Waterman. The board will also consider personnel items including the hiring of a media specialist, a cafeteria worker, substitute teachers, a bus driver, aides and a custodian, along with line judges and ticket-takers.
