United States Air and Trade Show elects new chairman

DAYTON – The United States Air and Trade Show, Inc., producers of the Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger elected Scott Buchanan as its new chairman at its annual organization meeting in September. He replaces Michael Emoff who chaired the board from 2005 to 2017. Emoff will remain on the board as a trustee.

Buchanan is the CEO of Ohio Masonic Home. He has extensive experience in the healthcare industry in finance and management. Scott has served on the board since 2012 in key roles including Vice Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee. He resides in Vandalia with his wife Katrina and two sons, Dillon and Connor.

“It’s an honor to be elected as chair of this amazing community non-profit,” Buchanan said. “I look forward to working with the USATS board to continue the great tradition of the Vectren Dayton Air Show for the Miami Valley region. I want to thank Mike for his leadership and commitment to the show for the past 13 years”.

Founded in 1975, the Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger is one of North America’s premier air shows. It features world-class aerobatic champions, military jet demonstrations and entertainment for the whole family, celebrating Dayton’s rich aviation heritage as home of the Wright Brothers, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and National Aviation Heritage Area.

The Vectren Dayton Air Show has an annual economic impact of three million dollars on the Miami Valley Region according to the Dayton/Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau. An average of 75,000 spectators attend the event each year making it one of the largest summertime outdoor venues in the region. 2018 will mark the 44th consecutive year of operation for the show.

The 2018 Vectren Dayton Air Show is scheduled for June 23-24. This year’s show will be headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. They will be joined by other top military and civilian attractions in the air and on the ground. For further details, visit www.daytonairshow.com.
