Feeling creative? Ever wanted to write that novel but needed that extra bit of inspiration and motivation? November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and participants are invited to challenge yourself to write a 50,000 word manuscript during the month of November! The region’s Municipal Liaison assist writers to meet the 50K goal. Children 17 and under are invited to join in the Young Writers Program and set their own word count goals.

The challenge is free, fun and open to all ages. Participants should bring writing materials and be prepared to start writing. For more information, email Lisa Barham at [email protected].

A National Adoption Month open house will be held Nov. 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Amos Memorial Public Library.

November is National Adoption Month. If you’ve always thought about foster parenting or wish to learn more about how to help children in care, stop by any time during the open house event to learn more about becoming a SAFY foster parent or volunteer. The event is family-friendly, so bring the children to make a free keepsake craft and enjoy some light refreshments.
