ANNA — On Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m., the Anna High School Drama Club will present the 48th annual Night of One Acts.
Three one act comedies will be presented in Milliette Auditorium. The first play is Superhero Sanitarium and is directed by Christina Van Fossen. The play depicts a big city journalist, Lois Lancaster, hoping to catch a big break by writing an expose about the current conditions in mental health institutions. Her research takes her to a hospital populated with a unique group of quirky inmates who imagine they are crime-fighting superheroes.
Keith Hoying directs the second play, This is a Test. This play humorously shows the anxiety one student feels as he completes an oh-so-important test that will predict his future. The audience gets a front row seat to the distractions and antics that steal his attention away from the test.
The final play is Attention Detention and is directed by Eric Heidemann. It is about four honor roll students that create wild cover stories to explain why they are in detention. The no nonsense principal humorously struggles to uncover the real reasons behind their fanciful tales.
The drama club invites everyone to come and spend an evening laughing, smiling, and enjoying these three comedies. Tickets are $6 and will be available at the door.
