SIDNEY — The unseasonably warm weather has given owners of the Sidney Auto-Vue Drive-In a rate opportunity to screen holiday movies.

“We are doing our first ever Christmas at the Auto-Vue this weekend,” said manager Teresa Covington, of Sidney. “We are taking advantage of the lingering warm weather and will be open for 3 nights.”

Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, the theater will present a triple feature: “Elf,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and “It’s a Wonderful Life” beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 8, a double feature of “Elf” and “It’s a Wonderful Life” will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The box office will open at 5:45 p.m. each night.

Tickets are $8 for people 12 and older, $3 for children 5-11. Children 4 and under are admitted free.

“We will be decorating the concession stand for Christmas and (encourage) people to wear their best ugly Christmas sweaters,” Covington said. “It’s very exciting to be able to do this for the community.”
