Houston man sentenced for attempted aggravated assault

SIDNEY — A Houston man was sentenced in the Shelby County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday on one count of attempted aggravated assault.

Brandon Barlage, 21, was sentenced to five years of community control, a $300 fine, successful completion of drug and alcohol counseling, he must maintain employment, and pay all court costs.

Barlage was originally charged with, and plead not-guilty, to one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony of the fourth-degree, in July. He was accused of having sexual conduct with a 15-year-old juvenile in or around January 2015.

In September he entered into a plea agreement and plead guilty to one count of attempted aggravated assault, a felony of the fifth-degree.
