The show is scheduled for Dec. 8 at Dorothy Love Retirement Community. Members will display holiday floral arrangements in 10 categories. The show will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. A door prize will be awarded and a holiday boutique will offer candy, cookies, handmade cards and Christmas items for sale.

In other business, the club:

• Heard the following horticultural tips from Nancy Morgan: Plalnt spring-blooming bulbs; cutmost perennials down to the ground and clean the surrounding area; don’t cut down mums; water trees and shrubs until theground freezes; use crushed leaves as mulch; repot indoor plants; replace hummingbird feeders with seed and suet feeders; clean pots and oil tools.

• Enjoyed demonstrations by Julie Gilardi and Mary Lou Overton of how to decorate for fall. They created wreaths and arrangements from found plants, stems, burlap, pine cones, baskets, pumpkins and more. Overton taught members to make corn leaf wreaths.
