47 compete in Ohio District 7 Holstein show

WOOSTER — The District 7 Holstein Show was held on Monday evening, July 9, at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, Wooster, Ohio. Judge for the show was Rudy Kiko, R & P Kiko Family Farms LTD, Salem, Ohio. Forty-seven registered Holsteins paraded the ring with ribbons and awards presented by Ohio Holstein Queen Allison McCumons.

Rupp-Vue Seaver Melissa, a five year old, was named Grand Champion and Senior Champion in the open show. She was shown by Rupp-Vue Dairy Farms LLC and Delbert Yoder, Creston, Ohio, and West Salem, Ohio, and is sired by R-E-W Seaver. Reserve Grand Champion and Reserve Senior Champion in the open show was Raygor Alexander Tara, the 150,000 pound cow shown by Raygor Farms LLC, Scott Sprunger and Family, Dalton, Ohio. Tara’s sire is Golden Oaks ST Alexander. Honorable Mention went to Toppglen Defiant Wowwee, the Intermediate Champion.

Intermediate Champion in the open show was the senior two year old, Toppglen Defiant Wowwee, shown by Toppglen Holsteins, Brennan, Marissa, and Logan Topp, New Bremen, Ohio. She is sired by Maple Downs IGW Atwood. Reserve Intermediate Champion in the open show was Sanorvalley Sammy Felicity, the senior three year old shown by Bryce Sanor, North Georgetown, Ohio and sired by Gen-I-Beq Sammy-ET. Honorable Mention went to the junior two-year-old Toppglen Atwood Windstar shown by Brennan, Marissa, and Logan Topp.

Savage-Leigh Gotta Look-Et, a winter yearling was chosen as Junior Champion in both the open show and junior show. Shown by Tim Gunkelman, Burbank, Ohio, her sire is Pine-Tree Sid-ET. Reserve Junior Champion in both the open show and junior show was the summer yearling, Toppglen Defiant Win It-ET, sired by Scientific B Defiant and shown byToppglen Holsteins, Brennan, Marissa and Logan Topp, New Bremen, Ohio. Honorable Mention went to the second place winter yearling, Toppglen Atwood Winner-ET also shown by Brennan, Marissa and Logan Topp and sired by Maple Downs IGW Atwood.

Grand Champion and Intermediate Champion in the junior show was Toppglen Defiant Wowwee, the senior two-year-old, shown by Logan Topp, New Bremen, Ohio. Reserve Grand Champion and Senior Champion in the junior show was the four-year-old Renwind Atlantic Monica, shown by Aaron Carle, East Rochester, Ohio.

Reserve Intermediate Champion in the junior show was the junior two-year-old Toppglen Atwood Windstar shown by Brennan, Marissa, and Logan Topp and sired by Maple Downs IGW Atwood. Honorable Mention went to the second place senior two year old, Toppglen Awesome Wildflower sired by Luck-E Awesome-Red and shown by Brennan, Marissa and Logan Topp.

Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor awards went to Toppglen Holsteins, Brennan, Marissa, and Logan Topp and Family. Showmanship winners were: Senior 1. David Miley 2. Tim Gunkelman 3. Brennan Topp; Intermediate 1. Grace Gunkelman 2. Dillon Morlock; Junior 1. Carissa Pittman 2. Wyatt Schlauch.
