SIDNEY — The Shelby County Farm Bureau will be hosting an educational seminar about water quality in wastewater and water treatment plants on March 2 at the Shelby County Ag Center in Sidney.

With water quality a hot topic across the state, the local Farm Bureau is hosting this event to learn more about how water quality is handled within wastewater and water treatment plants. The March 2 meeting will start at 10 a.m. with a presentation from Dr. Mancl from The Ohio State University.

Mancl is a professor in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering and an internationally known expert on sewage treatment and water quality. The presentation will be followed by a tour of the wastewater and water treatment plant in Sidney.

“This will be a great chance to learn more about our local municipalities and how they manage our water and waste systems,” said Jill Smith, organization director Shelby County Farm Bureau

Participants are asked to RSVP to 877-775-7642.

This event is sponsored by Shelby County Farm Bureau, Shelby Soil & Water Conservation District and the city of Sidney.
