JACKSON CENTER — Fifty-eight years, four generations and still family owned and operated, Bambauer Fertilizer & Seed credits its continued longevity in the agricultural industry to quality products and most of all service to their customers. With three locations in New Knoxville, Jackson Center and Pemberton, they are serving farmers in seven counties with approximately 40 employees.

“While 2016 offered a variety of challenges for all in the agricultural industry with yet another year of unpredictable weather, harvest proved better than expected in regards to yields for area farmers,” said Mitch Bambauer, location manager. “With the focus on better serving customers, Bambauer Fertilizer & Seed continues to invest in their customers, the agricultural industry and the community.”

Continued regulations for pesticide and fertilizer usage has farm operators seeking out the expertise of Bambauer’s for soil testing and fertilizer recommendations. With newly hired staff devoted to take on soil samples and recommendations, Bambauer’s is equipped to maintain their customers.

Transitions in seed demand, has brought on the addition of Stine Seed to the Bambauer line-up. Stine brings options for additional traits such as Liberty Link Soybeans to help with weed control challenges. Bambauer’s continues to work with Brodbeck Seeds and AgriGold Hybrids, and with the addition of Stine, has a diverse trait and genetic offering.

With investments in their facilities over the last several years, Bambauer’s has positioned themselves ready to better serve their customers and lead them into future changes in the agricultural industry. Additions of a fertilizer facility, expanded grain storage and handling systems as well as machinery upgrades and devoting to employees, the team at Bambauer’s is dedicated to completing service in an effective and timely manner.

Research and innovation have always been fundamental components of Bambauer Fertilizer & Seed. The year 2016 marked the ninth year for their Research Center Plot in which 3rd party trials are conducted by Buckeye Ag. Testing. With 20 acres devoted to testing, there are numerous trials going on at the Research Center. Trials include; starters, seed treatments, row width, nitrogen stabilizers, foliar fertilizer and fungicides. Additional insecticides, hybrids/varieties, innovative products, growth regulators, herbicides and Hi-yield systems trials area also tested each year. These trials confirm that the recommendations and products promoted by Bambauer Fertilizer and Seed will perform for area customers.
