SIDNEY — Summer McLain, of Sidney, has been selected to receive two scholarship from the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership at The Ohio State University.

McLain was presented the Jo and Warren Weiler Scholarship Fund in Agricultural Education and the Alice Lucile Russel Scholarship Fund at the department’s annual banquet at the end of spring semester. These competitive scholarships are given to students studying agriscience education. A scholarship selection committee reviewed applications and selected recipients.

The agriscience education major at Ohio State prepares its students you to acquire a license to teach agricultural science in secondary high schools in Ohio and across the country, with extensive training in agricultural science, educational psychology, instructional methods, and youth development.
