Continuity professionals form group

FINDLAY — The Association of Continuity Professionals (ACP) in December approved the formation of a new ACP chapter in Ohio.

The chapter is being led by James Knox, of Marathon Petroleum, as chapter president; Darren Sliwinski, of US Bank, as chapter treasurer and Chris Schmidt, of Progressive Insurance, as chapter secretary.

ACP is the preeminent national voice of continuity professionals, providing continuing professional development, knowledge and career opportunities to members while building public understanding around the world of the importance of continuity planning.

The Ohio chapter is launching with a membership larger than several other existing chapters.

“We anticipate being the ‘go to’ source for continuing education, collaboration and mentoring in the business continuity, disaster recovery and risk management profession in Ohio,” said Knox. Currently, “meetings are every other month and hosted at different member locations, so people from around the state can participate. Each time we cover different topics and enjoy a good lunch while networking with other professionals in the industry.”
