SIDNEY – The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is taking part in several events this week to share job opportunities with students and adults in its area.

These events are part of In-Demand Jobs Week. State agencies across the Buckeye State are featuring careers available in Ohio and sharing job openings with those interested.

“The purpose of In-Demand Jobs Week is to highlight the great careers available in Ohio and how to get the education and training you need to get started,” Office of Workforce Transformation and Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted said. “Businesses need talent, and if you have the right kind of skills and training it can lead to a rewarding career. We want to help Ohioans, young and old, build the skills they need to earn more and support a good quality of life for themselves and their families.”

ODOT District 7 will be at Tri Star Career Compact in Celina from 12:30 to 5 p.m. May 8. It also will hold a touch a truck event at Lincoln Community Center in Troy from 2 to 5 p.m. May 8. ODOT employees will be at Wapakoneta High School for a student job fair from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 10.

During these events, ODOT personnel will share job openings and assist attendees with the application process, as well as show students all that a career at ODOT has to offer. These events are just three of the 340 events being held statewide. For a full list of In-Demand Jobs Week events, visit https://bit.ly/2JjkeDe.
