WSU-Lake: Classes for entrepreneurs

CELINA — The Business Enterprise Center (BEC) at Wright State University-Lake Campus has announced noncredit classes for new and newer business professionals.

The following courses will be offered this summer:

“Excel for Business” covers how to create a spreadsheet, input necessary data, create charges and reports, and learn how to use Excel formulas in basic to complex computations. Certificates of completion will be printed for all participants completing the total 12-hour workshop comprising two sessions.

The class for basic to intermediate Excel users will be July 20 and 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. The class for intermediate to advanced users will be July 27 and 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee is $65 per person for each set of workshops or $125 for all four sessions. The instructor will be Carla Hirschfeld.

Hirschfeld will also teach “Performance Coaching” on Aug. 5 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The class will teach how to be an effective performance coach to the employees. This class will teach participants to ask the questions which cause new thinking processes, to understand others’ weaknesses and strengths and to generate new possibilities. The cost is $45 per person.

“Starting Right,” a one-day seminar for new entrepreneurs and new business owners, will be offered July 16 and Aug. 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The fee is $35 per business. Participants are entitled to free, individualized business counseling following completion of the seminar
