SIDNEY — “Air Handling celebrated our 43rd year in business in 2020,” said Kurt Barhorst, president.

His report follows:

Air Handling added a Gahanna, Ohio, operation to the existing two locations in Sidney and Milford, Ohio. Columbus is a city that is growing and we are excited by the many opportunities this will provide. We are currently interviewing for both sales and service technicians in that market.

As I’m sure many others will report, COVID certainly had an impact on the 2020 year. Many of our customers provide products that were deemed essential by the government standards, so as a result they were able to maintain some or all of their operations. As a whole, we will finish 2020 with an increase in revenue over 2019, and that is a blessing we are happy to report. The Milford location was established in 2015 and is led by Jeff Minks. Jeff has been actively selling for more than 16 years in the Cincinnati market. He has been with Air Handling for 5.5 years and each year has grown Air Handling’s market share.

The Sidney location, likewise performed well in 2020 despite the COVID impact. We have noted in these reports previously that Air Handling focuses on our four core departments of Equipment Sales, Parts Sales, Compressor Services, and Compressor Rentals. We experienced flat or increased sales in all 4 of these areas. Jeff Pleiman, Operations Manager, oversaw both locations and managed this growth.

Air Handling represents the Gardner Denver brand of air compressors. Gardner Denver merged with Ingersoll-Rand in 2019 and finalized that transaction in 2020. Air Handling see’s this merger of these two very large industrial manufacturers as a good thing. Air Handling and our customer’s will benefit from the combined engineering and purchasing power of these groups. In addition to this back office expansion, our customer’s continue to benefit with a product that is made in the USA, a 5 year parts and labor warranty program, 10 year rotary screw warranty program and energy efficient product offerings.

The Sales Department has been led by Aaron Lacy for over 18 years. This department experienced another successful year of total unit sales and revenue. One of the fastest growing segments in this market relates to the green energy initiatives of many facilities moving to oil free air compressors. Gardner Denver has invested heavily in this arena for several years and provides a market leading offering.
