Pulfer prepares for post-COVID-19 travel

SIDNEY — “2020 started off as, what would have been, a banner year for Creative Vacations.

“Clients were actively traveling to warm weather, tropical destinations in January, February, and the first part of March, just prior to the world shutting down.” said Debi Pulfer, of the local office.

She continued, “Once it was official and COVID-19 was a pandemic, at that point, vacations for clients scheduled to travel in March, April, and beyond, needed to be canceled or rescheduled, and I was here every step of the way to take care of this process and make these adjustments as easy as possible for my affected clients. Many clients mentioned how thankful they were to have worked with a travel adviser and not be out there fending for themselves, trying to get through to travel suppliers, often being on hold for hours and hours.” During the lockdown and even though the balance of 2020, travel, for the most part, came to a standstill. We are currently still, fairly grounded and have a way to go before the world can completely reopen. Once COVID-19 is under control, travel will pick up as people are getting anxious to get out there and celebrate missed vacations and special travel occasions, such as honeymoons, anniversaries, graduations, and retirements. Vacations are mental breaks from our day to day lives, and we will all need many vacations once this pandemic is behind us but it is so true.”

Pulfer’s report continues:

One thing realized most in 2020, besides how important it is to have an advisor by your side, is just how much Travel Insurance is needed. You may think nothing will stop you from traveling, however, that is not always the case. Unforeseen things can and do happen, they most certainly did in 2020, with the pandemic. Going forward, I think everyone will start purchasing travel insurance more often to ensure their vacation investment is protected. Clients that had it, were very glad. Those that did not, wished they had.

The annual Chicago Christmas Shopping Motor coach trip has is always in big demand. Even though we were not able to take the trip in 2020, this annual motor coach trip is going to resume for 2021 and we cannot wait to get back to Chicago. Dates for 2021 are Friday, Dec 3 – Sunday, Dec 5, with reservations being accepted soon. If interested, send an e-mail to the address below. We have already been getting calls with people excited to get out there again.

I can’t thank my clients enough for their continued support throughout the years. Even though 2020 was a year like no other, there will be brighter days ahead. With 37 years of experience as a travel advisor, as the world and travel start to open back up, I am here for you and looking forward to meeting and exceeding customer’s travel needs.
