ANNA — Panel Control Inc. (PCI) is an Anna, Ohio, based Certified Women Owned Business specializing in the design and build of electrical control panels and custom cables. PCI’s technicians have many years of skilled experience in the electrical/panel building & custom cable assembly fields. The company designs and builds custom panels to meet its customers’ unique specifications and offers electrical installation and support services to get its customer’s applications and equipment running effectively and efficiently.

PCI was originally a division of Wells Brothers Inc. (established in 1989) and became its own stand-alone company in 2010. Owners/officers include Sandy Wells, president, and Curt and Jerry Wells, vice presidents. Gregg Barhorst continues to bring his vast knowledge of the electrical/panel industry as the company’s operations manager and Joe Bodenmiller serves as the production/quality supervisor. PCI also has a highly experienced Engineering team that provides innovative solutions for a wide range of industries.

Lisa Meyer, CFO, has released the following report:

Panel Control Inc. had a very exciting year in 2020. While business was quite challenging for every company this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PCI remained extremely busy serving its existing customers as well as bringing in several new customers. PCI’s sales increased by 34% and its headcount grew by more than 20%. In addition to hiring many new panel building technicians to support its growing business, the company hired a Business Development Manager, Dave Toller, to join its management team. Dave, along with the rest of the PCI team, has done an outstanding job in 2020 of bringing in new opportunities from both existing and new customers. In an effort to ramp up our sales outreach and better serve its customers, the company implemented a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program as well as revamped its website.

PCI celebrated 10 years as a stand-alone company in 2020. Many activities were held throughout the year to thank our employees and customers for this amazing 10 years of growth. How has Panel Control, Inc. been able to prosper over these 10 years? The key to the company’s success can be summed up in two words: Quality and Employees. PCI’s commitment to its customers is that every panel is built to the highest standards and is 100% quality inspected prior to shipment. We are extremely proud of our employees’ continuous dedicated commitment to producing a high-quality product which enables PCI to stand out versus its competitors. In addition, their Engineering Design group enables “one-stop shopping” to meet our customers’ specifications.

2020 was also a year of renewed focus on the company’s “Culture.” The PCI team has participated in several interactive culture enhancement sessions and discussions over this past year. We’ve continued to bring our long-standing Mission Statement “I will treat the customer and my co-worker the way I want to be treated” to life by diving deeper into our core values of Respect, Integrity and Initiative. We will continue this enhanced culture deployment work in 2021 and beyond.

PCI also continues to partner with the Upper Valley Career Center (UVCC) to offer apprenticeships to students in an effort to collaboratively train highly skilled electrical panel building technicians. It is also continuously interested in hiring full and part-time panel builders. Anyone interested in joining the PCI team can apply online at www.panelcontrolinc.com (Careers tab).

As we look forward to another year of working with our current customers as well as forming business partnerships with new customers, we count our many blessings and wish to thank our employees, our customers, and our community for our continued success. We wish everyone a blessed and prosperous 2021!!
