SIDNEY — As with all businesses, 2020 was a challenging and unique year for the Tom Martin CARSTAR Network. COVID-19 required drastic changes to business practices that typically revolve around customer interaction. Despite this adversity the CARSTAR brand has continued to grow and offer exceptional customer service throughout the year. CARSTAR currently consists of over 700 locations in 35 states and 10 Canadian provinces.

Tom Martin’s report continues:

All three locations in the Tom Martin CARSTAR Network: Sidney Body (175 Stolle Ave.), Piqua (700 S. Roosevelt Ave.) and Troy (15 N. Kings Chapel) needed to adapt, while the world faced a global pandemic. The collision repair industry has always relied on in-person face-to-face interaction with customers to better understand how the damage occurred, explain the repair process and reveal the finished product. When COVID19 took over in March, these practices ceased to be safe or viable options. The Tom Martin CARSTAR Network needed to adjust their practices or business could not continue. Luckily, Tom Martin and his staff embraced technology that helped business to persevere safely. This is not to say that the changes were easy by any means. New virtual processes required patience on everyone’s part including both staff and customers. Thankfully, the majority of customer’s understood that even though the business operated differently than it had in the past, CARSTAR still provided the quality repairs and customer service that have always been promised.

Tom Martin also received a prestigious individual honor in October of 2020. Tom was named Multi-Shop Executive of the Year by Body Shop Business Magazine. This is a national award and the top body shop executives across the entire country were considered. The recipients of this award are an elite group of individuals. Body Shop Business says, “The awards are given to true collision repair visionaries; individuals who have experienced great success by being forward thinking, overcoming challenges and persevering. Winners are selected based on experience, special achievements and involvement within the local community and collision repair industry.” Tom was both surprised and humbled to find out about the win and true to character, said that his staff are the ones who earned it.

Also, in 2020, the Tom Martin CARSTAR Network was able to continue the tradition of contributing to the youth of Shelby and Miami Counties. Through donations to the County Fair Livestock Auctions, area youth can earn money to help fund future goals and aspirations. Donations and sponsorships were also made to area youth sports including football, baseball and softball. The Tom Martin CARSTAR Network also partnered once again with Toys for Tots, as a donation site. Many toys were donated once again to help ensure area children received something special for the holidays.

Overall, 2020 will most likely be remembered as a very challenging year that many would probably like to forget. COVID19 affected everyone personally and/or professionally. Keeping a positive attitude and learning to adapt was essential during this trying time. Fortunately, the Tom Martin CARSTAR network has a great staff and wonderful customers that helped the business survive and even thrive in 2020. The Tom Martin CARSTAR network understands that the stress of COVID19 is still strong and the last thing you need to worry about is car repair. So, Relax, We’ll Take It From Here!
