SIDNEY — Durnell Maier Law, LLC recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. The firm was founded by Elizabeth Durnell-Maier and is dedicated to advising clients on a wide range of elder law matters. Services offered by the firm include wills, trusts, estate planning, medicaid planning, va aid and attendance, probate, special needs trusts and farm trusts.

“The firm’s first year looked a little different than expected. We faced some unique challenges in 2020, including pivoting our marketing strategy from doing live, in-person events to virtual Zoom presentations, becoming an online notary, doing nursing home and assisted living signings standing in the flower beds outside of the resident’s windows, and using more hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes (or the off brand because finding “Clorox” wipes was like finding a needle in a haystack) than ever expected!,”” said Durnell-Maier.

Her report continues:

Even with those unique challenges, Durnell Maier Law was able to assist hundreds of local families with their estate planning and elder law needs. Due to the positive response from the community, Durnell Maier Law exceeded even its own first year expectations and it was necessary to hire a 4th employee in the third quarter of the year.

Durnell Maier Law has even higher expectations for the coming year and is looking forward to assisting more families prepare for the inevitable and the unexpected.
